Monica Hernandez

Monica enjoys learning by seeing the world. Her curiosity to experience other cultures inspired her to be a “voice for the voiceless.” After traveling to Central America and seeing how others live, Monica became inspired to tell stories that would otherwise go untold. Her passion for storytelling led her to study journalism. Monica earned her bachelors in Communication at the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. During her time at W.S.U., she joined Cable 8 Productions, the student-run television station. She worked behind the scenes while serving as crew member and assistant director for various shows. She was also involved with the W.S.U. Sports Crew and worked for the PAC-12 Network to broadcast Cougar Athletics. Monica reported and produced for Murrow News 8, the student-produced nightly newscast. She also gained experience at the anchor desk. Monica hopes to eventually work for a news station that will allow her to continue travelling while reporting the news.
